Car Park Signs

Here is the sign into the car park which I drove straight past on my way in. You can clearly see on the floor it says customer parking so naturally you would assume this is a place for customers to park. After reading that, any other signage becomes of reduced significance and I certainly wouldn’t stop to read all that small print on the main sign on the way in.
(Note: These pictures were taken 4 months AFTER the incident, I really have no idea whether they were there or not as I don’t recall seeing any signs on my visit)
I turned immediately left and parked next to where the blue car is ‘arrowed’ on the picture….

The main yellow sign would have now been pointing away from me. I had no urges to walk across the car park to read any other signs. Strolling around car parks with a 5 year old in tow is not a standard behavioural pattern for me.
It doesn’t matter that there are a lot of other signs in the car park because you would only see them if you parked near to them (or possibly on your way out) besides, I guess if it was there I would have subconsciously seen the big “P” on the yellow sign on the way in.
P= Parking, right?
Here is where I parked (in the empty space), there is no sign in front of where I parked…

It did not register that any of the signs would pertain to me as I was only going to be staying for a short while to let my son have a Happy Mealâ„¢. There was no reason to think that the possiblility of a parking fine would apply to my situation.
