I went through the drive through with my three kids 2 years 5 years and 7 years old. We just got done taking a family picture for there daddy who is in Iraq right now. I was frustrated so i decided to hit up the local Mc D's for dinner so I could get home and relax.. I ordered...

A grilled Chicken sandwich (no mayo) value meal with a large Diet Coke
3 Hamburger Happy Meals with Chocolate Milk
2 Honey Mustard sauces

What I recieved...

A grilled Chicken sandwich covered in Mayo and a large Dr Pepper
1 hamburger happy meal no french fries
1 hamburger happy meal complete
1 hamburger happy meal with NO MEAT
No honey mustard
No straws
No napkins
No Ketchup

HOW DO YOU NOT PUT MEAT IN A HAMBURGER?? So I called and got a fax machine.. Who was of no help. finally got ahold of someone and the only thing she offered was for me to bring the food back and she would fix it????? OK PLEASE LET ME LUG ALL THREE OF MY KIDS WHO ARE TIRED AND CRANKY BACK TO YOUR STORE SO YOU CAN PUT SOME MEAT ON MY DAUGHTERS HAMBURGER BUNS?!?!? I hate McDonalds.. If this was the first time they messed up I'd understand.. BUT ITS ALWAYS anymore.. Im done with them!

Ouch! That's a bad one.

I've had that myself where you have the kids to consider and there's NO WAY you're going to trek all the way back to the store. I'd consider writing to your local newspaper and/or contact the store again to discuss (at least) a full refund for your ruined day.

What do you want them to do? Bring the replacement food to your house? They offered to replace it and you declined.

Maybe you shouldn't have to, but if they routinely mess up your order, check it before you leave. Or stop going there. It's that simple..

It's just ridiculous that something like that would happen, or even that people would say a forum post is overreacting. It doesn't matter if they offered to fix the mistake, it shouldn't have been made in the first place. I can SORT OF understand no fries, mayo, or even Dr. Pepper instead of Coke, but no meat in a HAMburger?
Not just that, but even though she paid for the food (I think a happy meal runs for about $3.50 each) but that means she had to make dinner for her daughter despite being exhausted, or her daughter would go hungry. Things like this make me cringe, and replies like that make me feel even worse for the state humanity is in.

You know what's ridiculous? A nutjob opening fire on a playground full of children. This just doesn't warrant the level of outrage displayed here. I'm sorry, it just doesn't Some things need to be placed into perspective

What is the alternative? That everyone just be perfect? That's a ridiculous expectation. The complete lack of understanding by the original poster is disturbing and indicative of an extreme narcissist pathology. The idea that they are the only one that matters. The kid that made her burger probably made hundreds of burgers that day and was probably so busy that he forgot to put the meat in. He's human. I'm guessing the OP has made a mistake or two in her life also.

Does it suck that she got the wrong order? Yes, It's understandably frustrating. Any normal person would have stewed for about 30 seconds and then resolved the situation and moved on. It's a freaking hamburger!

Seriously. That's what makes this situation so ridiculous. We are talking about a hamburger. A hamburger.

If this can set this person off, I can only imagine how much fun they are to deal with when a real crisis arises.

And like I asked in my first post, how was the response from McDonald's inapropriate? What could they have done to satisfy her outside of driving to her house with replacement food? Assuming they got there quickly enough to appease her.

I find it difficult to understand why a person would be on a forum made for complaints if they are bothered by people complaining. To the OP: I'm sorry you had to deal with that. They always screw my food up, and have even made me late to work, waiting for my change!

We love MacDonalds, but I am through with drive thrus after the amount of mess ups I've had with them. I am disabled so not easily able to use the restaurant facility, therefore MacDonalds has lost a customer.

I am sure most of the staff are over-worked, hot, tired, bored, low-paid and perhaps at times distracted from their jobs BUT they are paid to do a job for a company and at times (actually, most times that I am using a drive-thru) they don't seem able to do the job they are being paid for. They are being paid in effect to do a diservice to the MacDonalds name.

The complaints service is probably great if you can go to a counter & discuss your problem face to face, but this isn't an option for us all. There are other reasons people use drive-thrus, it's not just for the fat & lazies

The replies to the OP on here just go to re-enforce everything I believe of MacDonalds staff... n'uff said?!!

You are an idiot.

You know what?

You need to learn something... "sometimes it is better to be thought of as a fool, instead of opening your stupid mouth and proving it."

While I understand that's it's frustrating that you didn't get the right food, they can't just bring the food to you. Another thing to be mentioned is this: IT'S A MCDONALD'S.

I have never, in my entire life, gone to a McDonalds that acted as if it was a 5 star restaurant. You pay for junk food and you're going to GET junk food. Simple as that. More than half the people working there are in high school and/or they're stupid, so you may as well just come to understand that McDonalds will NEVER be any good. I haven't been to a McDonald's yet that has given me an order with NO problems.
